Here are some key points from this month’s market snapshot:
Active inventory for the Tri-Cities and areas we’re watching dropped for the second straight month, down to just 536 available homes. Every city but Richland had fewer available homes when we checked this week. This could be weather-related; sellers may have chosen to wait for better weather to list their homes and/or they may have been unable to finish getting their homes ready to sell because of all the snow and ice in February.
On the other hand, closings were actually up a bit across the Tri-Cities. As I mentioned in Ask the Realtor a couple days ago, the bad weather wasn’t slowing down the industry side — lenders, title companies, etc., all kept processing the home sales in their pipelines. Yay everyone!
Active listings in Kennewick dropped for the 4th straight month.
Sold listings in Richland dropped for the 4th straight month.
