Wow! I wrote absolutely nothing last week – and I really had a lot of great ideas to speak to, too. But I did set a new record for me – I wrote three offers and they were all accepted! I also received an offer on a listing, but we’re still negotiating that, so I don’t know if that will pan out.

First off – what a great idea this is! GOOG-411, using Google to help you find what you’re looking for from your phone – FREE!

Okay – if your family is rapidly expanding, or you need to buy a new dining room table but you might be moving to a new house with a smaller (or larger) dining room, OR if you have dinner parties, this is the piece of furniture for you!

I got so excited when I stumbled across this info about free movies during the summer. Until I saw that no one local offers it 🙁. Thanks to reader Aaron Plummer, I noticed that the Columbia Center Regal Cinemas DO have selected free movies from Tuesday-Thursday.  How cool! And, because I know people in other parts of the country read this blog (either because they used to live here and miss it, or because they’re thinking of moving to Tri-Cities, WA ), I linked to the site that covers the country!

When I was in college, I told a friend, “You know, I don’t understand what the deal is about giving prisoners bread and water. I LIKE bread and I LIKE water. I could live quite happily on those.”

My friend looked at me and said, “Cari, it’s not like they’re piping hot loaves fresh from the oven served with pats of fresh, creamy butter, and the water isn’t served in an icy goblet. It’s stale bread and dirty water!”

Ever since then, people drinking dirty water has been something that makes me very sad. Recently, lots of people have been raising money in order for people to have clean water in Africa, like these kids in Pasco. Way to go, kids!

And I love this! The Tri-Cities is still small enough that we get excited when we get international attention (i.e., Kennewick Man) and this inclusion on to the menu for Holland America Cruise Lines is really cool! Way to go local vintners!

I’ll try to write more this week than last. Have a great one!

Cari McGee

My husband and I came to the Tri-Cities in 1994, and we thought it would be a temporary stop on our way to larger cities. He was a television sports anchor at the time, and we planned to go wherever the "next step up" took us. Twenty-plus years later, we're still here and we've loved every minute of it! We have two children now, and we've found the Tri-Cities area is a wonderful place to raise a family. It's a great place to do outdoorsy things -- I like to hike Badger Mountain or run along the river path. I also love reading ... by a cozy fire in the winter or a beautiful picture window in the summer (with the A/C on!). I've been a licensed Realtor since 2004. I earned my managing broker's license in 2016, which means I can run my own brokerage, or create a team of real estate agents and supervise them, which is exactly what I did when I formed the Cari McGee Real Estate Team in 2018! We have administrative and marketing personnel, as well as additional agents to serve you. I became a director of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2016, became Secretary/Treasurer of the organization, and was elected to Vice President in 2019.
