Links Back to the Week That Was 4/13

This is my favorite, my favorite, my favorite find of the week!!  TEAL – the Typo Eradication Advancement League.  They’re currently on a trek across the US, correcting typos with their handy-dandy typo correction kit.  I love it!  Perhaps once an English major, ALWAYS an English major?!

And I kept choosing the wrong curtain here.  Many Let’s Make a Deal watchers are cruising out of the desirable ad demographic, into a sort of no-man’s-land audience (we’re shelling out the money to our children so they can buy and stimulate the economy instead of us buying fun things for ourselves).  But even if you never watched the show, it’s good to know the psychological whys and wherefores.

When I worked at a major retailer, one of the questions we asked during the interview was the following: “Is it okay if someone you work with steals $5.00 from the  register?”  The ‘correct’ answer is no, because if someone thinks it’s okay to steal $5.00, what’s to stop them from thinking it’s okay to steal $500.00?  Theft is wrong, regardless of the amount.  These guys in California would not have gotten the job.

And because I am nothing if not helpful, even if it’s just about chocolate, I offer this guide for ensuring optimum confectionery freshness.

Have a great week!

Cari McGee

My husband and I came to the Tri-Cities in 1994, and we thought it would be a temporary stop on our way to larger cities. He was a television sports anchor at the time, and we planned to go wherever the "next step up" took us. Twenty-plus years later, we're still here and we've loved every minute of it! We have two children now, and we've found the Tri-Cities area is a wonderful place to raise a family. It's a great place to do outdoorsy things -- I like to hike Badger Mountain or run along the river path. I also love reading ... by a cozy fire in the winter or a beautiful picture window in the summer (with the A/C on!). I've been a licensed Realtor since 2004. I earned my managing broker's license in 2016, which means I can run my own brokerage, or create a team of real estate agents and supervise them, which is exactly what I did when I formed the Cari McGee Real Estate Team in 2018! We have administrative and marketing personnel, as well as additional agents to serve you. I became a director of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2016, became Secretary/Treasurer of the organization, and was elected to Vice President in 2019.
