I am not a mathematical genius.  I didn’t major in political science.  I am, however, an American citizen which qualifies me to weigh in on the US economic picture, the bailout and whether or not it was a good idea.  I’m not going to address those topics right now, though. I’ve got some thoughts still swirling around in my head and they have yet to formulate into a cohesive argument.

However, the brilliant and savvy Brian Brady posted this over on Bloodhoung Blog, and I’ve been tossing various elements about it in my brain since I read it Friday am.  In college, I wrote a paper entitled – Deregulation: The Only Way to Fly and it was about the deregulation of the airline industry (this was in the late ’80’s) and the title was a take off from this commercial. As I recall, it was an assigned topic, and after I wrote the paper I questioned whether deregulation really WAS the right thing.  Twenty years later, I get to ponder the question again. What’s that quote?

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Hmmmmm…

And on to more mundane matters –

This is cute – and they act as if anyone can do it.  Like when you’re watching Martha Stewart and she says, “With just three pumpkins, some cotton swabs and a blow torch, you too can create this magnificent Easter brunch centerpiece…”

And from the There-Has-to-be-a-Better-Way Department, I found this 12 minute clip re: foreclosures.  It IS sad, and as the post warns, you will be depressed by the end.

Sometimes the winner doesn’t budge much.  The photo was posted in August, but it just came to my attention this last week.

And I’m not sure what this says about Americans, but because I love this country, I’m going to guess it means we’re a fun-loving people who enjoy coming together for a common cause as much as the next nation –

Have a great week!

My husband and I came to the Tri-Cities in 1994, and we thought it would be a temporary stop on our way to larger cities. He was a television sports anchor at the time, and we planned to go wherever the "next step up" took us. Twenty-plus years later, we're still here and we've loved every minute of it! We have two children now, and we've found the Tri-Cities area is a wonderful place to raise a family. It's a great place to do outdoorsy things -- I like to hike Badger Mountain or run along the river path. I also love reading ... by a cozy fire in the winter or a beautiful picture window in the summer (with the A/C on!). I've been a licensed Realtor since 2004. I earned my managing broker's license in 2016, which means I can run my own brokerage, or create a team of real estate agents and supervise them, which is exactly what I did when I formed the Cari McGee Real Estate Team in 2018! We have administrative and marketing personnel, as well as additional agents to serve you. I became a director of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2016, became Secretary/Treasurer of the organization, and was elected to Vice President in 2019.
