How To Make Sure You Get Our Emails

An easy guide to keep our emails away from your spam folder!

As real estate professionals, we send our clients and contacts a lot of email — updates on our sellers’ listings, new home alerts for our buyer clients and much more.

Some email programs are overly aggressive in labeling emails as spam, and real estate-related emails can sometimes be affected the most. But you can take a few steps to make sure our emails get through and you get the information we’re sending.

The instructions below explain how to make sure an email address doesn’t get marked as spam. If you don’t see your email provider below and don’t know how to make sure our emails get through, get in touch anytime and we’ll do our best to help.

NOTE: These are instructions for a desktop computer. The process on your phone/tablet might be somewhat different.

Gmail

1) When logged in to your Gmail account, click the gear icon in the upper right. On the dropdown that appears, choose “Settings.”

2) Click on the tab that says “Filters and Blocked Addresses.” If you can’t find it, this link might work.

3) Look for the “Create a new filter” link and click it. A new popup window should appear.

4) In the “From” field, type cari@carimcgee.com — then click “Create filter with this search” at the bottom of the popup window.

5) On the next screen, check the boxes next to “Star it,” “Never send it to Spam” and “Always mark it as important” and then click the blue “Create filter” button. Like this:

You’re done! You should now get all of the monthly offer emails right in your Inbox.

Yahoo

1) When logged in to your Yahoo Mail account, click the gear icon in the upper right that says “Settings.”

2) Scroll down and click the “More settings” link.

3) On the next screen, click the “Filters” link in the left-side navigation. If you can’t find it, this link should work.

4) Click the “Add new filters” link. A form should show up to the right.

5) Give your filter a name, like “Cari’s Rockstars.” In the “From” settings, choose “Contains” and type cari@carimcgee.com. Under “Choose a folder to move to,” select “Inbox” and then hit the “Save” button. It should look like this:

You’re done! You should now get all of the monthly offer emails right in your Inbox.

Outlook

1) When logged in to your Outlook account, click the gear icon in the upper right. At the bottom of the popup window that appears, click on the “View full settings” link.

2) On the next screen, click the “Rules” link. (If you can’t find it, this link should work.) Next, click “Add new rule.”

3) Give your rule a name, like “Cari’s Rockstars.” Under “Add a condition,” select “From” and then type cari@carimcgee.com. Under “Add an action,” select “Move to” and then select “Inbox.” It should look like this:

Click the “Save” button up above and you’re done! You should now get all of the monthly offer emails right in your Inbox.

iCloud.com

1) When logged in to your iCloud.com account, click the gear icon in the lower left corner and choose “Rules.”

2) On the popup window, click “Add a Rule…”

3) There’s no way to tell iCloud to send our emails to your Inbox, so you’ll need to create a new folder. Type cari@carimcgee.com in the “is from” field, then select “Move to Folder” and “New Folder” below that. Give the new folder a name, like “Cari’s Rockstars.” It should look like this:

Click the “Done” button and that’s it! You should now get all of the monthly offer emails right in your new “Cari’s Rockstars” folder.

Other email programs

If your email program isn’t listed above, chances are good that the process will be similar. Look for your email “settings” or “preferences,” and then look for a way to create “filters” or “rules.” From there, you want to add a filter/rule for cari@carimcgee.com and tell your email program to send email from that address to your Inbox.

If that doesn’t work, add cari@carimcgee.com to your address book and/or Contacts list. Most email programs should deliver email from addresses that you’ve saved.

Finally, if you’re still having trouble and don’t know how to make sure our emails get through, get in touch anytime and we’ll do our best to help. It’s the least we can do for our Rockstars!
