Why? The number one reason the report cites is: JOBS!
Largely due to stimulus money, we have employment. The majority of the jobs are out at the Hanford area, so it’s engineers and the like. That kind of work pays well, too, so the income level is high for those who hold those positions.
Read more here, but the important thing to remember is that it’s not simply that we have good jobs. Our communities have relatively inexpensive housing; the average sales price hovers around $200,000.00. Our weather is ideal (300 days of sunlight), we have rivers for recreation, golf courses to play, mountains to climb.
I think I better stop before the Chamber of Commerce calls to recruit me.
