Many of you have decided that spring is the perfect season to either buy or sell a home. If you are selling your home, here are a few tips to give it a fresh look:

1.) Spring is a fantastic time to switch out your throw pillows and curtains. This doesn’t have to be an expensive venture. You can find slipcovers for your throw pillows online starting at about $7 and new sheer curtains for under $20 per set.

2.) Updated paint colors are always a huge plus when you’re getting ready to sell your house, but sometimes that’s just not an option. I would highly recommend you touch up any walls with the current paint and don’t forget the trim.

3.) Spring is the perfect time to bring in some earth elements. Whether you choose real or artificial plants/flowers, you can easily bring a little “life” to a room. You have the option of choosing a pop of color that goes with your current scheme or you can go neutral and pick something in white/beige or even easier, foliage. Keep your container simple and let the floral/foliage do the talking.

4.) Spring is also a great time to get rid of that heavy winter bedding and replace with an inexpensive down comforter from an outlet store, some colorful pillowcases with a matching throw at the bottom of the bed.

5.) Have a clean and fluffy set of new towels hanging in the bathrooms. These do not have to be expensive as they are just for show.

6.) Let’s not forget that our homes have been closed up tight to keep out all the cold for quite some time now. As a homeowner, you don’t always recognize the smells in your house. A simple way to get rid of some of those locked up smells is to turn off your heater, open a couple of windows let those odors escape.

Cari McGee

My husband and I came to the Tri-Cities in 1994, and we thought it would be a temporary stop on our way to larger cities. He was a television sports anchor at the time, and we planned to go wherever the "next step up" took us. Twenty-plus years later, we're still here and we've loved every minute of it! We have two children now, and we've found the Tri-Cities area is a wonderful place to raise a family. It's a great place to do outdoorsy things -- I like to hike Badger Mountain or run along the river path. I also love reading ... by a cozy fire in the winter or a beautiful picture window in the summer (with the A/C on!). I've been a licensed Realtor since 2004. I earned my managing broker's license in 2016, which means I can run my own brokerage, or create a team of real estate agents and supervise them, which is exactly what I did when I formed the Cari McGee Real Estate Team in 2018! We have administrative and marketing personnel, as well as additional agents to serve you. I became a director of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2016, became Secretary/Treasurer of the organization, and was elected to Vice President in 2019.
