3 Favorites from the 2018 Tri-Cities Parade of Homes

When I was a little girl, my parents toyed for a while with the idea of moving from our home in Hacienda Heights, California to a new home in Irvine, California. We spent numerous weekends touring floor plans and model homes, trying to isolate which one we’d choose. I don’t know what happened or why, but when it seemed we would be pulling the trigger any moment, they decided to not move. What I do know, though, is those weekends instilled a love of touring homes, imagining a different life than the one I’m living now, set inside a new group of walls and covered by a new roof.

I think this is why I love the Parade of Homes so much. And 2018’s Parade did not disappoint! I saw cool floor plans and closets to die for, and backyard spaces I was drooling over. Here are three of my favorites:

Backyard Pool

I especially loved this pool in the back of the A&R Feser, Inc home. I thought it was the perfect size for taking a quick dip and cooling off. Others with me thought it was just a glorified hot tub, but I liked it!

Glass-door Bookcases

This bookcase with glass over the shelves above cabinets is totally my thing, too. I’m a reader, so the thought rows of books on shelves, safely tucked away behind glass, made me so happy! In addition, my cleaning style is “throw it behind a closed door and pray no one looks there,” so the cabinets are exactly right for that!

Chandelier in the Closet

Finally, this house in West Richland had the master closet, bathroom and bedroom combination I am living for! Who wouldn’t want a chandelier in their closet?!? Plus, the shower was so pretty and clean-looking, and the bedroom was cozy without being too small. I began counting my pennies the second I left. I’m up to $1.43, so just $974,998.57 to go….

My husband and I came to the Tri-Cities in 1994, and we thought it would be a temporary stop on our way to larger cities. He was a television sports anchor at the time, and we planned to go wherever the "next step up" took us. Twenty-plus years later, we're still here and we've loved every minute of it! We have two children now, and we've found the Tri-Cities area is a wonderful place to raise a family. It's a great place to do outdoorsy things -- I like to hike Badger Mountain or run along the river path. I also love reading ... by a cozy fire in the winter or a beautiful picture window in the summer (with the A/C on!). I've been a licensed Realtor since 2004. I earned my managing broker's license in 2016, which means I can run my own brokerage, or create a team of real estate agents and supervise them. I became a director of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 2016. I am on the Budget and Finance Committee there, as well. I love serving the citizens of this community, and my fellow Realtors, too. Want to talk about real estate? Click here to schedule a meeting with me!
