Moving to the Tri-Cities, WA? U-Haul is not your best bet…

apparently not, anyway.  The Los Angeles Times is doing a series on U-Haul.  Important pieces of evidence they’ve uncovered so far include no lug nuts on some wheels and failing emergency breaks.  Moving is stressful enough without discovering you could die on your way to your new destination.

I used U-Haul plenty of times, and the only negative personal experience I had was when a cockroach stowed away in my china cabinet.  My eagle-eyed stepmother spotted the critter before it could breed and a crisis was averted.

Anyone out there with a personal U-Haul story to share?  Near miss or best-move-of-your-life escapade?  Do tell…
